My Thankful 30 {2017} Days 5-9

November is just cruising by and I couldn't allow myself to fall any further behind on my album or else I would risk shelving this project before it really got going. I grabbed my prompt list, figured out what photos I had on hand that would work and then took a couple of new ones.

Since I had 5 pages to complete in a limited amount of time, I resorted to the handy technique of batch scrapping. I laid out several sheets of paper, added ink in various ways and colors and while they were drying, I printed out my photos.

Once I decided which photos would go with which page, I went through the cards and papers from my assembled kit and began adding layers. Then it was on to the embellishments, and once those were decided, I slid everything off of each page, typed my journaling, and then glued all of the layers and embellishments into place.

My desk can get a little crowded when I work like this, but I've found it to be a good system because if one page isn't coming together, I can move on to another, complete it, and then go back to the problem page with fresh eyes. Often that little break is all I need to be able to have it click.

If you've fallen behind or didn't take a photo for a particular day, don't fret. I suggest making notes for the day so you have ideas for journaling or using a past picture to help capture what's making you thankful.

  1. I have to remember to use these techniques in my layouts. I finally finished my WITL (yes, that one, from April) and catch up on my PL, so I'm crazy to get back to layouts, especially when I see these beautiful pages. I love everything about these pages! Michelle t
