My Thankful 30 {2017} Days 14-17

It hasn't been ideal to only have a few hours once a week to work on my album, but it's better than no time at all. These pages were made at the same time as the ones I shared in my previous post, and I kept with my trend of batch scrapping in order to get so much completed.

On my page for the 14th, I again used a photo from earlier in the year. The mix of old and new photos has been a different approach to my album this year, but I'm pleased that my inability to take a photo each day hasn't kept me from creating one of my favorite projects.

I used tinted Texture Paste with a stencil for the background and then layered my photo onto a die cut tag and topped it with a chipboard shape. My last touch was to add stamping over my journaling, hoping that it would create an interesting effect. I'm not loving it, but am going to live with it.

I had better luck with my stamping for day 15 page. Using a border stamp, I applied three different inks and then stamped it onto my paper. It's a little hard to see in the photo, but in person you can see the different shades. Since I added a couple of long, narrow rectangle elements, I used the enamel shapes to add movement to my page.

For the 16th I went back to my kit to pull together papers to layer under my photo. I love my patterns and layers, and needed to make sure I was keeping them in rotation throughout my album to maintain that consistency. I also brought in the gold thread and gold mist since those hadn't been used lately.

I think by day 17 I was running out of steam after having gotten 9 pages done. A very simple page with layers of scraps on a background I had made much earlier in the month but hadn't used yet.

For these larger projects it can be hard to remain focused and enjoy working on it when you have a moment. If you're not in the mood, don't be afraid to pick up something else to do, sometimes a break is all you need to come back to it feeling refreshed and inspired.

PS - I haven't forgotten about the free printable I'll be sharing, but I got ahead of myself in the last post. It's still coming, and hopefully next week I'll have the link for you.
