December Daily {2016}

As I work to get caught up on sharing projects I've completed, I thought I'd go back to December, and more specifically, my 2016 December Daily album. This was my fourth year participating in documenting our December and once again, I'm glad I did.

I take my album through the 31st of the month, telling one story each day with topics such as decorating for the holidays, a simple treat, and our favorite tradition of going out to see the holiday lights. Each day has my journaling, but sometimes it's tucked behind a photo or slipped into an envelope. I varied my page sizes and styles because I've learned that using all pockets or making all layouts doesn't suit my needs. Sometimes I want the structure and ease that the pockets provide to be able to include several photos, and other times I like to make interactive elements that work best without a page protector.

It's funny how realizing one simple thing can make a project come together so quickly. With the freedom to create each page however worked best, I was able to complete my album right after the new year began.

Below are a handful of pages to show the variety that makes up my album. You can view my entire album at your leisure in my gallery here and I've also uploaded a video where I talk a little more about my pages and share how I stored my supplies for easy access.

I worked with a few different kits throughout my album, but I feel that I'm able to maintain consistency in how I use my supplies. Also, no project of mine would be complete without making some of my own papers and elements, so if you see a product used or are curious as to how I created something, feel free to ask in the comments!

  1. Just watched your video - what a lovely album! That newspaper page is genius and the variety of page sizes and elements made me want to pick up the album and flip through it in person. Even though I'm longing for spring, your pages made me little wistful for the snow and magic of Christmas. (And I think your cats definitely deserved the "dress-up treatment" too!)
