Summer Stories

Last year I enjoyed documenting part of our summer when Little Paper Projects launched #LittleSummerJOY and when they said they'd be at it again this year, I thought I'd join in. I'm looking forward to seeing inspiration from Julie and Jen as well as all of the other creative folks participating. Their focus this year is using a Traveler's Notebook insert and I went back and forth on that. I'll admit, I was nervous about being committed to pages that I couldn't add or remove. But, I think I found a way to make it work for me.

I'll be using the Midori Kraft notebook and it has just enough space to do a double-page spread for each day in July. Along with the stories from our month, I'll be using ideas from LPP, daily photo prompts from CY365, and adding in quotes. This way I feel like I have plenty of inspiration in case I don't have a story for the day, but not so much that I'm overwhelmed.

And you know me, I always start with a kit and created one with items from The Great Escape kit and new supplies that I hoped would all work well together. First up was to create a title page that I put inside the notebook so that when I start today, I begin with my two-page format.

Using one of my stamped stamps, I layered it over some patterned paper and topped that off with a mini flair. Beneath the cluster, I stamped a phrase. The sun is part of the Summer Vibes set, and there are 3 other packs that have hit the shop today. Do you have any special plans for documenting your summer? You might just need a pack or two to help. :)

  4. A beautiful start! I can't wait to see more... I was nervous about a midori style also since I've never done something like this but I'm slowly figuring it out and creating a process. This is such a fun and focus driven project, which I just love!

  5. I love your journal so far!!!
I love these ideas you have to document a week or a month at a time....not the full pressure to do a whole year, but enough to keep going for a month or a week.
Now I want to do one too :)
