Project Life {August 2015}

Now that I no longer subscribe to a Project Life specific kit I thought that I would put to use one of the mini kits in my stash or some of my Messy Box cards. Once I had my photos printed, I laid out variation after variation trying to get it to come together. I thought I had finally settled on cards from a previous Messy Box, but it just wasn't working so my last resort was to unzip some digital items from a purchase I'd made at The Lilypad.

I didn't need a lot of cards so I just began selecting ones that I liked along with some additional elements to print. Once everything was print and cut, my pages were assembled in a breeze. The only change I made was adding a dark pink to the mix to brighten things up. I used a banner element as a template for a repeating die cut, changing the color, font, and wording. Being able to make the products suit your needs really comes in handy!

So that my pages weren't completely made of paper elements, I added some small embellishments here and there, trying to keep it from getting cluttered. Over the course of this past year I've definitely embraced less is more for my Project Life, but it's hard when there are so many fun products. :)

Hoping you have a wonderful weekend ahead! I have all kinds of big news coming next week so be sure to stop back by. See you then! :)

  1. Great layouts. Love that you altered cards and elements to suit your photos or color scheme. I so need to learn. I'm beginning to wade through WITL. Also, looking forward to your design team announcement. Michelle t

  2. Love your pages here Elise. Great photos and all the bits and pieces are fabulous! Hope to get some PL time in this weekend myself. Will be sure to check back next week for your news. Enjoy your weekend :)

  3. Great pages and I love your photos.
    I think the add of the pink was a perfect touch.

  4. You really made it work without a kit. Great pages!

  5. It's so nice that you can mix in some digital to make your PL cards work, shame you have to do it but better than having to buy more than you need to make things work. I loved the punch of pink it really popped off your pages.

  6. More amazing pages, Elise! Your bowl of flair looks like mine (but in a different bowl). I love sifting through it to find the perfect piece(s) for a project. :)

Thank you so much for taking your time to comment, I truly appreciate all your kind words!
