Love Bugs

Using one of the inserts in my Traveler's Notebook as an art journal has been a quick and easy way for me to experiment with various techniques when I don't have a lot of time but still want to get crafty. And after watching a recent video from my friend, Jana, I was definitely in the mood to create.

In her video, she showed a technique where you place your watercolors onto a piece of plastic and then use that to transfer the paint. While it might not be a new technique, seeing her beautiful results was the kick I needed to try it myself.

For my pages, I heat embossed my stamped title and then added my watercolors like I described above. Then I fussy cut a couple of kitties from some paper, used an October Afternoon roller stamp, and stamped their names with a smaller alphabet stamp.

While the stamping can be a little tedious, the overall project was done in record time. I have plenty of space to add my writing, but the fear of messing up has kept me from doing so yet. Maybe I need to find a truly erasable pen. Or just bite the bullet and give it a go. ;)

  2. The watercolor effect is so pretty, Elise! It was the sweet kitties (both the cutie pie pets and embellishments) that really got me though. :)
