Project Life {June 2015} Single Step

I began arranging my June photos into pockets with cards, but got no further once I remembered that I wanted to include an additional page to record the beginning of my journey to a healthier me. I had taken a picture as I headed out for my morning walk, but at the time didn't know what I would do with it. Then an idea struck me like a lightening bolt and I was off and running.

Using the same method that I shared here for segmenting a photo in PSE, I turned my square picture into multiple images to print as 4x6 photos for my 9x12 pocket page. I was torn for adding my title with alphabet stickers versus a stamp set, but I really wanted to try stamping on a photo. In the end I reminded myself that I could print the photos again should anything go awry.

Taking my time, I spelled each word backwards so that they were all right justified and while it's not perfect, I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I don't know if I'll introduce more stamping on photos, but I don't think I'm as scared to try anymore.

When it came time to select cards for the back, I decided to dig into my growing collection of digital products. I chose digital papers from One Little Bird's Postscript pack and turned some into plain 3x4 cards and also did a little experimenting with adding portions of digital paper along with digital watercolor splatters to others. The card in the center was made with the font, Eveleth and behind two of the cards I have my journaling.

My cards are printed on 65 lb white card stock and once trimmed, I added stamping to two cards (in pink) and created some stamped labels. In the end I used 5 different sets and it felt good to be putting them to use.

If you have any further questions about the techniques or supplies I've used, don't hesitate to ask. I hope you have a fantastic weekend! :)

  1. Congrats on taking the first step to becoming more healthy. And I like the stamping!

  2. I'm stamping on my photos more often, too. I just got an outline alpha set that I'm loving. I think yours look awesome. Love your inspiring pages, too. Michelle t

  3. I love your big photo Elise! I've been trying to do this for a 12x12 page each month but have never tired a 9x12. It looks great! And your stamping is so good. Well done :) p.s. congrats on your journey to greater health!

  4. Your pages are wonderful.
I thought you had printed the statement on you photos from your computer….so they turned out perfectly.
I had meant to start a health/weightloss journal…but never did put anything into the book and I have reached my goal, lol.

  5. Wow! That first part has such an amazing impact, Elise! The design is fantastic and totally conveys your commitment to a healthier lifestyle. Amazing work with the cards on the second page too. Your brave "experiments" always turn out beautifully. :)

  6. Love this, and even better when you get one of the lightening bulbs, such a great feeling. One of these days I need to get back to my PL pages until then yours are very inspiring.

Thank you so much for taking your time to comment, I truly appreciate all your kind words!
