Dined Well

Since I got my Cricut Explore, I've had some time to play with it, but I thought what better way to get really acquainted with it than to take a class offered by Paige Evans over at Studio Calico. If you're not familiar with her work, she does amazing things with her Silhouette.

Using the first lesson from Make It Big and another lesson from Type by Ali Edwards, I created my background before I really knew where my page was headed. When I decide to use a quote on a project, I usually search Google Images and Pinterest to find words of wisdom, like this one by Virginia Woolf.

I created my cut file in Cricut Design Space, but I am wondering if it wouldn't have been faster (for me) to have made it in Photoshop Elements and then import the PNG file. The ability to line things up is easier in PSE, but I was already in DS so decided to just go with it.

The background paper is from Shimelle's {True Stories} line and the paper that I cut was from my May Messy Box. A scrap from a recent layout and mostly homemade embellishments were all I needed to complete my page.

For my photos I went back over the last year and selected four pictures from dining out that are some of my favorite dishes. The hubs and I love food and we go out to eat regularly. When he saw the title of my page he said, "we dine well". Why yes, yes we do. I hope you have a great weekend ahead! :)

  1. So very true...a great title for your page x

  2. I love this. The paper you chose for your base looks great with the big title. And I love your layering too. Great interpretation of the lessons. Especially the Type class. I'm getting a lot out of that class too. Awesome work, Elise.

  3. Great title! I need to try using a quote as my background one day!!

  4. I have to say I LOVE LOVE the subject of your layout!!!
    Yummy photos.

  5. What a fun page, I love that quote too. So befitting!

  6. Oh wow! Love the impact of the big quote and boy are those yummy-looking photos. :)

Thank you so much for taking your time to comment, I truly appreciate all your kind words!
