One & Only

Once again I was super inspired by Mandy's #ThisWeek topic, That Special Someone, and lesson 2 in my Type class by Ali Edwards. These two sources seem to be a creative match made in heaven for me! So much that I didn't even finish reading through Ali's lesson or watch any of the videos, I just stopped and got to creating after seeing one of her shared projects.

Working from Mandy's prompt, I decided my long journaling would be a sort of love letter to the hubs about a few of his many qualities that I appreciate so much, but don't tell him as often as I should.

I used all sorts of digital goodies for my page, something I've been doing more of lately for layouts as opposed to just for my Project Life. Ali provided digital templates this week and I altered one to make my 8.5x11 page in Photoshop Elements. Mandy kindly has freebies on her blog designed by Digital Design Essentials, which I used one of for my title after changing the color. Last but not least, the pattern that I printed on vellum comes from the adorable digital paper set, Postscript, by One Little Bird.

If you're at all interested in learning more about type as well as ways to apply it to your projects, this is the last week to sign up for Type. I had never taken a class by Ali, and I got it with the early bird special, but knowing now how much I'm enjoying the class, the full price appears to be well worth it.

  1. How fabulous is this page, Elise?! Love the envelope vellum and how you balanced the portion you cut out by using the piece on another part of the page!
