Documenting December 2014 {Days 25-31}

Here it is, my last post to wrap up my December Daily for 2014. I'm so happy I changed my mind from the format I was going to use. While I'm no stranger to pocket pages, they just weren't working for me. It was a combination of having too many page designs and becoming overwhelmed with not having any prep done beyond kit assembly. Resorting to making 6"x8" layouts and having a go at various techniques was a lot of fun and I can look back on this album and feel really good about what I made. Always important, right?! :)

Day 25 - Christmas day at my parents and since we don't exchange gifts, I was fine with covering up my photo of their Christmas tree
happy dance - used my new set of MFT dies to make faux file folders

Day 26 - my sister and I put our photos in the matching mini albums I made for us
technique - used an entire sheet of alphabet stickers

Day 27 - happened to catch the sky at sunrise
technique - stamping and stencils with ink pads

Day 28 - football Sunday at my parents
technique - I'd seen this awesome layout at Scrap Your Scraps, but it was Jill Sprott's layout that made it come together for me

Day 29 - got about 6" of hair chopped off
technique - embossing paste with a stencil

Day 30 - quality time with my sister ;)
technique - hand cut letters

Day 31 - my final photo for my photo a day challenge
technique - stencils over Dylusions Spray inspired by Christin Gr√łnnslett

  1. Every page had me oohing and aahing, Elise. Way to go using up an alpha sheet. That looks fabulous and is so creative! Loving the layered folders and big chunky title. This is definitely a labor of love and a piece of art to be enjoyed year after year.

  2. Loving how you used that alpha sheet, fantastic way to use it up!

  3. These are ALL fabulous Elise, but I especially love 26 (what a perfect use of leftovers) and 27 (mmm woodgrain!)

  4. this is such an amazing album!
So many fun techniques and pages!!
    And cute hairdo :)

  5. Wow wonderful pages Elise I can only imagine how great it feels to be done. Funny but I was thinking of skipping my DD next year because as you stated there seems to be a lot of time involved trying to plan everything out. Perhaps I need to just rethink my format. I really love Day 27, it's just stunning.

  6. That sunrise is gorgeous. Your hair looks great!!

  7. More great layouts :)
I did my first DD with a hand made album my dad make and papers I cut from a Christmas collection.
I like that I can see the photos and paper pockets and have interactive elements that aren't hidden in page protectors :)

  8. Love your DD, Elise! Day 27 page is one of my favorites from your album.

Thank you so much for taking your time to comment, I truly appreciate all your kind words!
