Matching Mini Albums

I guess I'd had enough of the traditional red and green from working on my holiday projects that when my Studio Calico Card Kit arrived, I was inspired by all of the bright colors and patterns. Since I didn't need to make any cards, I decided to put the kit to use and make matching mini albums for my sister and me and our spur of the moment adventure.

Just like with my December Daily album, I practiced more with embossing paste, Distress Markers, and stamping. I'd been wanting to try hand cut letters and had fun cutting them out, not so much fun sewing them all down though. I also made a couple of small cards from digital printables by One Little Bird and Splendid Fiins.

In case we collect any memorabilia from our travels, I made an envelope to act as the back cover of the album and used a metal clip to keep the flap closed. Both albums are identical and once the photos have been added, I'm thinking I'll have each of us take one, write our journaling, and then exchange them.

Wishing everyone the happiest of holidays!

  1. I hope your sister knows how lucky she is to have one of these beautiful albums, Elise! Love how you added the embossing paste elements. They're subtle, but so pretty. The title work and stitching on the cover are pretty amazing too. :)
