Wow, well I had a little bit of a setback when it came to getting my December Daily album started. I printed my photos for the first 3 days and made all different styles and sizes of pages, including a confetti shaker pocket that flipped up to reveal my journaling. With those pages done, I had a heavy weight bearing down on me. I was struggling with how to make it all feel cohesive and I was not a happy camper.
I pulled last years album off the shelf and looked through it thinking about what I liked most about it. I decided I would start over and make 6"x8" layouts and have a go at techniques that have piqued my interest lately. Still wanting to include a little story for each photo, I wrote on mini shipping tags and tucked them behind photos. Finally feeling excited to continue on with my album, I got several days completed!
Day 1 - the wreath we bought for our front door on Small Business Saturday
technique - gesso and stamping applied on a vintage book page
Day 2 - Target to the rescue because I ran out of time to make my own set of marquee lights
happy dance - used up plastic stars that had been hanging around
Day 3 - coming to an end with my daily photo challenge
technique - watercolor paper with stamped images and Tim Holtz Distress Markers
Day 4 - finally getting started on making my Christmas cards
happy dance - fun new craft die that makes tiny envelopes
Day 5 - happy mail from Studio Calico
technique - cut out stamped letters (as practice for one day cutting out handwritten letters)
Day 6 -we braved the rain to watch the boat parade
happy dance - put inspiration I'd found to use and scraplifted a gorgeous layout by Cari (SC username caariilup)
