I sadly kind of forgot that my post was due for October's project of focusing on my word for 2014, but it actually worked out for the best because I was able to incorporate World Cardmaking Day and some fun challenges that Studio Calico hosted in honor of it. If you're not familiar with the holiday, you can read about it here and there's still time to participate in the SC challenges found here.
I've had a couple of people in my thoughts lately and so taking the time to create some cards to send was the perfect way to put my word into play.
I'd been wanting to try heat embossed stamped images and watercolors and lucky me, there was a challenge to use stamps and watercolors. Quite a different style for me, but I can see myself doing this technique again.
For this card, the challenge was to use gold, as little or as much as you wanted. I've never been a fan of gold with my personal style, but for scrapbooking I love it. Glittery gold embossing powder gave these stamps extra shine!
My last card was based off of a color palette and mood board that was assembled and I really liked the color combination. It's not something I would have come up with on my own, but I'm a fan.
Hope you're inspired to send a little happy mail to someone special! :)
