Sunbeams & Snoozes

I don't often buy scrapbook kits, but I had picked one up from Studio Calico recently, and then had a little buyer's remorse when I saw it in person. I challenged myself to use the kit at least once before separating the contents and I decided they'd make a sweet layout of our Pound Cake.

I used the same sketch by Shimelle that I'd used not that long ago for this layout here. The items in the kit weren't something I'd normally buy individually, but I wound up really liking the papers, the Elle's Studio wood grain alpha, and the Jenni Bowlin gold rub ons. Guess my initial impulse to buy the kit was right all along. :)

I've just updated my Etsy shop and you can see one of my new flair in the embellishment cluster at the top of the page. There is a hint pink in the pattern paper and so the flair and label at the bottom worked well to enhance that little pop of color.

Hope you've been having a great week!

  5. Such a sweet layout :)
I like the simplicity of the layout and also all of the layering
I never purchase kits either, but I did recently and have been having fun. As the products and papers are not ones I would have chose on my own :)

  7. Pretty layout... I like the *idea* of kits, but don't use them the way they're intended.
