Summer Splendor, Summer Lovin'

I knew when I printed my photos that I wanted to make a double page spread. I guess it wound up being more two pages that coordinate because at first glance, you could think they're unrelated. The pages will be facing each other in my album and so I made sure to incorporate some of the same embellishments and paper on each side.

The papers are a mixture of Crate Paper {The Open Road}, Dear Lizzy {Lucky Charm}, and Basic Grey. I used the same technique as on a previous card where I stamped my letters and images on adhesive backed cork and then (die)cut them out. The alphabet stamps and dies are from Mama Elephant and have been getting quite a workout lately! The butterfly is an old My Mind's Eye and the stars are from Freckled Fawn.

I incorporated a lot of things that I hadn't been doing recently and it made me wonder why I'd stopped. I inked the edges of my layers, sprinkled mist on both pages, and used some wood veneer. I'll be trying to remember to put those techniques and embellishments into more of my projects. It's definitely a struggle to balance using old and new so that supplies and ideas aren't forgotten! :)

If you're looking for some inspiration, there's a new challenge on the forum and it's open for 2 more weeks. I'll be back next week with what I was inspired to create. Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Gorgeous photos and fabulous Pages Elise! Love the veneer sprinkles!!!

  2. So pretty and they will go together nicely as a dbl page. Who says they have to be exact.

  3. Your layouts are beautiful and your photography is stunning :)
I admire your way of making your double page layouts…mine have to be matchy matchy…I am hoping to work on that though.

  4. Love that floral paper! I like the coordinating pages instead of matching pages.

  5. Beautiful pages and photos, Elise! It's as if that floral paper was made for your photos! Love how these coordinate and complement each other but aren't matchy matchy. :)

Thank you so much for taking your time to comment, I truly appreciate all your kind words!
