Mini Holiday Pt. 1

Back in April, the hubs and I took a few days and traveled down to Charleston, South Carolina. Neither of us had been there before and with spring on it's way, we were hoping for warmer temperatures and plenty of spring blooms. Itinerary in hand, we hit the road and were not disappointed!

Just like with my 2013 vacation album, I used a combination of full 12"x12" pages and divided pages. I pulled together a kit that was mostly Basic Grey's {Mon Ami} along with a plan to use up some washi tape and kept everything to a simple style. I also used my class supplies from the Sketchbook class I recently took with Studio Calico.

Even though I wound up with quite a few pages, these are going to go in my everyday album and not a separate vacation album. For the first page, I got to try out a new to me divided page style and also made a hybrid title card. The pink squares and title were done with Photoshop Elements and then I stamped the triangles once it was printed.

The back side and following page coordinate with each other and I'll say it again, I love the combo. Using a full size layout allows me to give a couple of photos extra attention, while the divided pages allow for a dedicated space for journaling. I'd never been on an aircraft carrier before and was in awe of the size of it and was overwhelmed with all there was to see.

I'll be back later in the week with a few more pages. Have a great day!
