Pause for the Moments

For my June project for focusing on my word for 2014, I had decided I would capture snapshots throughout one of our days. I picked an ordinary Saturday earlier this month that was filled with quality time and relaxing.

It was more important that I collected the moments of our day than the quality of them. Knowing that I could crop them and would be printing them at a smaller size helped keep this from being a big deal as the day went on. Just snap a couple pictures and then keep on keepin' on. :)

If you frequent my blog, you'll notice that I've been going back and forth between page sizes and am enjoying mixing it up. For these pages, much inspiration came from Shimelle Laine and Geralyn Sy. Shimelle hosted a little online crop over the weekend with loads of challenges and inspiration and it was her sketch challenge HERE that I used for my left-hand page. Loved the simplicity of it!

For the right-hand page, I used a stamp set designed by Geralyn for Studio Calico as well as her layout HERE as my foundation. I used several elements on both pages in order to tie the pages together. The white chevron paper is on both pages, I used the same font for my printed quote and title, die cuts from the Basic Grey {Fresh Cut} waterfall pack, a little bit of Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold, and some sewing.

I had a lot of fun putting these two pages together and liked taking on a day in the life type of project. I didn't wind up captioning the photos because I felt it would make it too cluttered. In case you care, we ate breakfast, I caught up on Instagram, got ready for the day, ran errands and grabbed lunch, went for a walk, and relaxed until I reached the end of the internet. Then I snuck a photo of the hubs giving Pound Cake some pets, enjoyed homemade chicken souvlaki for dinner, went and picked up desserts from a Korean bakery, and then it was time for bed.

Have you ever done a day in the life project?
