For this first layout, I played along with Scrap & Play and their tic-tac-toe challenge. I chose to use fiber, enamel dots, and chipboard. The photo is from a couple of weeks ago when the hubs and I took our anniversary pictures at the lake where our wedding photos were done. It's become a tradition for us, but I don't know what we'll do if we ever move out of the area.
I took my parents to the botanical garden last month and was able to snap this sweet photo of the two of them. The bow and the yellow chipboard letters are on pop dots to give the page some dimension, but with the bold patterns, I felt it didn't need anything more.
For both pages I used quite a few My Mind's Eye {Market Street} papers. When I first saw the collection, I really loved it, but then talked myself out of buying any. It kept calling to me so I decided I'd pick up just a little bit. I've found that I need to have a project in mind for the supplies I buy or else they just sit there, and that's no fun! :)
LOVE these layouts! I have been feeling the same way with a clean look! You rocked these!
ReplyDeleteI love that both of these are so simple, but so so pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pages, Elise! You did a wonderful job with this collection (and you're making me want to get it). :)
ReplyDeleteThese are both beautiful Elise!!
ReplyDeleteAdorable pages. Love the patterns you selected and happy fonts! I have been eyeballing the MME myself :)
ReplyDeleteI love the pages! Great mix of patterns and colors and I love the clean & simple style! Thanks for joining us at Scrap & Play
ReplyDeleteLove the mix of pp and simple but classic pages seem to stand the test of time. Those are the ones you go back to and think wow that looks good as opposed to all the fad scrapping where you ask yourself what was I thinking.
ReplyDeleteLovely pages. I love that collection too! I actually bought quite a bit of it (couldn't help it!)
ReplyDeleteBoth layouts are so sweet.
ReplyDeleteI love that you and your husband take a photo every year in the same place.
I started out in 8.5x11 as well. When I had finally seen 12x12 sized layouts, I thought I would never do those…but now that is all I do…when I do one ;)
Lovely, I love clean and simple styles like this sometimes I get so focused on embellishments I forget that you can make beautiful pages with less.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pages! Thanks for joining us at Scrap & Play!
ReplyDeleteBoth stunning pages & beautifully selected papers! :) Thanks for sharing with us at Scrap and Play!
ReplyDeleteI love that you have followed your heart and went back to some simple ways of documenting your special photos - good on you because I believe that this is very hard to do and conquer! Great job and thanks for playing along at Scrap & Play!
