L - original photo taken with Canon S100, C - edited with PhotoToaster, R- edited with VSCO Cam |
PhotoToaster was the first photo editing app that I downloaded and I really enjoy using it. It's $2.99, which to me is a fair price for a stylish app that is easy to use and continues to be updated. I use it for one touch photo enhancements and also when I want to edit a photo with multiple layers, textures, and a frame or vignette.
I just downloaded VSCO Cam (available for iPhone and Android) and while it's free, they offer many additional preset packs for purchase and I've already bought a couple. It has a camera app built in, but you can also upload photos from your camera roll and then edit from there.

iPhone photos turned collage with Moldiv, text applied with Over |
Moldiv is a free collage editor available for both iPhone and Android. It offers in-purchase upgrades, but what is has available from the start has been more than enough for my needs. It is easy to use and you can stitch photos, create your own collage, or select from one of the many templates they offer.
photo taken with Canon S100, edited with PhotoToaster and made into a square with Squaready |
Squaready will take your rectangular photos and put them on a square canvas for uploading to Instagram. I use my Canon as much as my phone, and while I usually crop the image beforehand, there are times when the composition just doesn't convey if cropped. There is a free and pro version, I'm using the free and have been happy with it's ease of use.
Gorillacam is a nifty app to have if you need a self-timer. They offer a free and pro version, but I've not needed anything more than what the free offers for the couple of times I've used it.

So that's what I've been using to enhance my photo and Instagram fun. If you see my photos on Instagram, any filter or editing is always tagged, so you'll know what I did, if anything. Are there any apps that you love?
These are so helpful. I am going to check them out. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteThese look interesting. Will take a closer look. I tend to get frustrated in the App store because there is just so much to choose from. When it comes to paper, I have no problem with 8 million varieties. But Apps? It pains me to look through page after page not knowing what will work for me. Love to see reviews like this so I can just go find the exact app and be done with it. :)
ReplyDeleteSo sad I haven't any smart phone ! Thank you still, very interesting.
ReplyDeleteThese sound like great apps. I am always on the lookout for helping out my camera phone.
