Moving Time {Again}

In May, I helped my sister move yet again. About every 18 months she moves, and every 18 months I tell her that she has too much stuff. Honestly, next time we are hiring professionals!

For this series of layouts, I wound up using a lot of grey, yellow, aqua, and pink and liked how all the different brands coordinated. Of course I used some of my favorites, like Basic Grey and Echo Park, but also pieces from Elle's Studio and Amy Tangerine.

I hadn't planned on doing a title page, but there was a story about my flight out that I wanted to get down. I've had to get creative with the Studio Calico {Abroad} Thickers because I'm running out of certain letters and of course have too many of others. I've turned most of the B's into E's and cut X's in half. I also used asterisks and brackets on another layout. I bought this Crate Paper {The Pier} Shoreline paper for the pretty teal side, but the B side worked so well for the background.

This last layout is the perfect example of when you have an idea in your head, but it doesn't come out quite like you thought it would. Really close, but something just doesn't feel quite right. I'm still happy with the way all of the layouts look together and loved working with new products that were out of my norm. My favorite wound up being the Two Peas in a Bucket exclusive Freckled Fawn Arrow Clips, which I already ordered in yellow!

What product pleasantly surprised you lately?

  2. Wonderful page, my dd moves about as often as your sister..it's a chore. I loved the Studio Calico thickers and I too often have to modify other letters to stretch them out.

  3. Those Amy Tan papers in the first LO are awesome together - very eye-catching. And I also loved using the clouds from her Yes, Please line, such as in your third LO.

    My most recent pleasant surprise product is The Pier's kraft chevron paper. I bought it based on the previous photo, which uses the white-based printed version from the paper pad and then when I got it, discovered the kraft-based single paper version is MUCH darker and I didn't like it at.all. Well, I used it in my most recent LO and it's awesome now. You just never know...

  5. Wonderful layouts. I especially love the background paper you used on the first layout. What product pleasantly surprised me lately? I think once I get them on a page they all surprise me in how they set off a photo or other elements on the page.
